IBM OPEN ACCESS: RPG EDITION
Presented by: Barbara Morris, Lead Developer for IBM RPG Compilers.
Barbara Morris is the lead developer for the RPG compiler in the IBM
Toronto Lab. She has been working on the RPG compilers since she started at IBM in 1989 after receiving a Computing Science degree from the University of Alberta.Open Access is intended to allow RPG programmers to use RPG's familiar I/O operations as an interface to programs and procedures that can access devices and resources not otherwise available to RPG. An Open Access file is one which uses a user-provided program or procedure (called a "handler") to handle its I/O operations rather than using the system's data management functions. The magic of Open Access is in the handlers themselves.
The Central PA IBM POWER Systems User Group is for IT professionals interested in learning more about IBM POWER systems. Specifically, topics relating to POWER technology, virtualization, performance, AIX and i OS's, and more.
Users of IBM POWER Systems in the Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Reading, Lebanon, and Hanover areas are welcome to join our group and attend meetings. Users of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome.
We meet at least twice a year at a venue located in the Harrisburg/Lancaster area and will hold webinars as needed.
